Market Changes
“At the beginning of the year, I told you that | expected stocks to outperform bonds and have an extraordinary year. At the end of August, the S&P 500 index was up 21.6%. That’s 7 consecutive months of gains. Compare that to the 50 year average performance of the S&P 500 of 10.9%; I would say that’s extraordinary. And we’ve got four more months to go. We’ve had positive annual returns 17 of the past 19 years. Also, | expected poor performance from bonds and they’ve delivered on my promise [expectation]. They’ve returned about 0.7% for most bonds. Not all of them. But for most of them.” – BARRY M. CORKERN
